Caboolture was the first floating city in the world, but now shares the honor with two other cities. On February 14, 1905, newspapers around the world astounded its readers with an amazing story and even in our days without explanation. All buildings in this city, then five thousand people, came off the ground to become airborne at a height between eight and fifteen meters. Scientists, journalists, soothsayers, seers, prophets and the curious flocked and keep coming to watch, enjoy, study and guess this singular phenomenon. The first few days of panicked caboolturenienses with help from firefighters evacuated their homes. Today, without a doubt, this prodigy is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the world. The metropolis has been divided between the floating and subsequent homes that have been built on the ground.
